Frequently Asked Questions
So that your booking with us is as smooth as possible, we have put together some FAQ's
If there is anything not covered in these or you need further clarification, please contact us using the contact form here
Does the booking fee cover the whole event?
All fees advertised cover the whole time of the event and includes setup and cleardown time.
Our events usually run from 11:00am until 15:00pm (dependant upon the venue).
Is access to the venue available the night before an event to enable setup?
Unfortunately, we are unable to guarantee access to a venue the night before to setup. Access is normally the same day and times for setup vary dependant on the Venue.
Prior to the event, you will receive a stallholder’s information sheet with your application form and a copy with your acknowledgement and once your application is accept.
Access times and details of your booking will be included, and it is important to keep them safe and refer to them before the event.
Do I need Public Liability Insurance?
Not always!
Some of our Venues require stallholders to have Public Liability Insurance and if this is the case, we will state the requirement on the Event Information and you will not be able to book our event without it.
You need a specific policy to cover Public and Products liability. This will cover your liabilities for any injuries or damages caused by your involvement in an event or by any products you sell.
Currently, a minimum of £2 million cover is generally required but at some venues the minimum is £5 million.
How much does Public Liability Insurance cost?
Premiums vary but most exhibitors pay around £50-£90 per year for £5m cover.
We can’t make specific recommendations but if you email us info@theartisanaffair.co.uk we can give you details of insurance companies used by most Stallholders.
Does my electrical equipment need PAT testing?
PAT testing is a requirement of the majority of our venues and therefore we will have to insist on it. Any electrical item you use at an event must be tested and have a current certificate, less than a year old. It must also carry a test sticker and the testing report given by the PAT Tester must be shown. This condition also includes new electrical items.
How can I get my electrical equipment PAT tested and at what cost?
Most electricians will carry out PAT testing and there are also dedicated PAT testers. Costs vary depending upon the company and the amount of appliances being tested.
We cannot provide specific recommendations for PAT Testers but if you send us an email to info@theartisanaffair.co.uk, we can send details of testers that other stallholders have used.
Will there be enough space for me to easily get behind?
Our indoor events typically allow each stallholder a space of either 8ft x 8ft or 10ft x 10ft and a standard table size is 6ft. There is ample space to move around your table
Do I need to have a marquee, canopy and/or backdrop/banner for my space?
Most of our events are indoor and therefore a marquee or canopy is not necessary. However, sometimes we do book events at venues with outside space and this is thoroughly recommended to protect against the elements.
In terms of backdrops and banners, indoor event space is limited and it wouldnt be advisable to put a backdrop or banner behind your space, due to health and safety reasons.
A banner is allowed however, attached to the front of your table.
What happens if I need to leave before the end of the event?
Due to Health & Safety, it is a strict requirement that you are there throughout the opening times of each event.
By submitting your application, you are committing to keeping your stand fully intact and manned throughout show opening hours. Please do not arrive late, leave early, or start “tidying” your stand or packing things in boxes until closing time. This gives a bad impression to customers and is unfair to other stallholders.
